March, 2, 2005. A capacity crowd of nearly 400 hydroplane and movie fans packed the new Regal East Valley Cinema in Renton, Washington to prevue the long-awaited movie, 'Madison.' The movie, directed by William Bindley and starring James Caviezel, Jake Lloyd, Mary McCormack and Bruce Dern, is a father-son action/drama based on the inspiring true story of the tiny, dying town of Madison, Indiana and its legendary, come-from-behind win in the 1971 race for the Gold Cup of hydroplane boat racing. The Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum provided vintage unlimited hydroplanes, and not-so-vintage drivers and crew members, to help with the filming of this heartwarming, family movie.
